Cannot seem to find this map people keep referring to that shows a breakdown by region for homeowner's insurance in North Carolina. The N.C. Dept of Insurance website didn't help. I would like to find out if insurance on homes in Edenton has skyrocketed since May, 2007. We're thinking of locating to NC, but not if we have to pay somewhere between $2-4,000/yr for homeowners.
I had tried the ncdoi link, but nothing downloads. (I'm also new at this forum so I felt lucky just posting a question! let alone finding the right forum. Bear with me; I'll get there.)
Any other ways to get that "map" of the insurance areas?
ok it says this:
NC Homeowners rate revision as of May 2007 by territory
Chowan County NC (territory 43)
Initial rate change 125%, Filed rate change 50%,Approved rate change 50% current $718
Initially discussed $1615,Filed $1077, Settled $897
It is actually a list of counties with the above info next to them, not a map. Acrobat is the program require to read it.
ok I hope this is what you were looking for.

Thank you, thank you, mm34B! I'll pour over this chart. We're leaving this week for NC, so I was getting a little desperate after I found out about the big jump in insurance rates in May.
Thank you both for your help! You're both the best.
