Hello! Im trying to relocate my fiance and my four children to North or South Carolina. I have been networking with some landlords off of Craigslist and have not had a good response due to having Pitbulls (outside dogs). They are very tame...in fact..my teacup yorkie attacked one of them and they just took it..lol. We have saved money to move, have placed resumes to various businesses..in which most businesses told us once we become residents to come back and talk to them. I would love to live in coastal NC, but need to be realistic on employment opportunities. My family consists of a diverse background of white and black...so I most definitely want to find an area that will not be primary white nor black.. If anyone can help me or point me to the right direction since I am getting a little frustrated googling and contacting people down there that are not as willing to help us out? Thanks in advance!!!

Nope. Not really.

You'll have a hard enough time even if you could buy your own house.
It'll be neighbors as much as landlords in many areas.

Well in Coastal NC...your largest city is Wilmington, your more diverse city is Jacksonville because of the military and its right up the road. You may consider living somewhere in between, where you can rent in a more rural location but still look for jobs in both areas. As long as you're on the west side of 17 you can find some affordable rental opportunities.
