Check some of the legalize MJ threads.
The commercial/industrial uses for legal hemp far outstrip the recreational.

As for sugar vs cornsyrup, the argument is moot to me. ... In my opinion, the real problem
with obesity worldwide is the lack of exercise due to our technological advances.
Not disputing that influence one bit... but I'm leery of the either/or aspect.

It wasn't like you were drinking an 8 ball with every bottle though. There was scarcely any alkaloid in the forulma- less than a hundredth of a grain per serving, not anywhere near enough to have psychoactive properties. It should worry you more that it's still used as a local anesthetic when vasoconstriction is necessary since most synthetics don't do nearly as good a job.

I think it should have read: Can't sue because "you're obese" bill about to become law.

Dunno about all that. It's low-effort red meat for the rubes stuff to let them know we're not gonnna kowtow to those damned freedumb-hatin' yankees up in New York City (horror of horrors) but doesn't actually accomplish anything.

It's certainly common. Not sure about the sense part.

Anyways I refuse to be baited in your attempt to throw this thread off topic and not discuss the law.

Its a good law in preventing frivolous law suits of suing companies because one is obese.

Its common sense if one is going to ingest calories its their personal responsibility in maintaining a healthy BMI.

If so

On the contrary... it's an attempt at making an over broad roadblock...
preventing even considering the role of the product producers and advertising.

No one is forced to smoke cigarettes either... right?

Exactly, no one is force consume sugar base products or any product that has high calorie as of today diet drinks. Its the lack of exercise and maintaining proper BMI is why so many people over weight.
It is one responsibility to control what they put in their body.

For example this past Winter-Spring I use to love have a bowl of cereal right as I unwind before I go to bed so in April my BMI read 24.9. Its my fault and not Post or General Mills.
Its my responsibility in no bed time snacks. I want to drop down to 24.1 by October like I was May 10th of 2012.

I make choices, we all make choices. But we can’t blame others for the choices we make.

And all those choices are influenced by advertising...

Have you seen the new TV ad's for Coke?
Consider what they are acknowledging an awareness of.

This NC law is a poorly done end run around due process.
No one should be happy with it and the higher Courts will show that.

OK, then following your logic, people should be able to sue Apple when they have to declare bankruptcy because they just had to have all the latest, greatest iWhatevers. It couldn't possibly be their fault. Damn those Apple commercials.
