I am planning to move out of Oklahoma, enough reasons. I moved from another country( Asia). I have been to Greensboro, I think I like the weather there, Now I don't know which city I should go, I am majoring business right now, will do these logistics or import export area job. I know near the sea maybe better, but worry about hurricane. Any good advice? thanks ( oh, my background, I have a pre-teenager girl)

The chief metro areas in NC are:
Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (Triangle)
Charlotte
Greensboro-High Point-Winston-Salem (Triad)
Wilmington
Asheville

Raleigh-Durham is probably the best in terms of variety opportunity and culture, followed by Charlotte. Greensboro and the Triad are nice and between Raleigh and Charlotte but the cities are smaller and there is less going on in all regards.

Wilmington is obviously a good choice if you need to be near water.

I'd take a look at job opportunities in the cities and make a decision based on where you'll likely be working.

There are 100 counties in NC. SOOOOOO many people look at just the aforementioned metro areas. There is a lot more to NC than just the big towns. Spend some time, learn about teh state, and land a job before you move!

Why are you looking into NC specifically? What job leads do you have, in what fields? It soulds like you just want to get OUT of Oklahoma more than come TO NC...are you sure this is the best state for your situation? Morehead City has a substantial port, that might be a good place for import/export jobs, I don't know.

Being near the coast will always bring a risk of hurricanes, and because of the shape of NC (i.e. it juts out into the ocean) our beaches are more vulnerable than, say, South Carolina. But, major hurricanes donig a lot of damage more than a few miles inland are rare. We also have some tornados...but you're in OK, so you know about them!

Teensy problem: There are hardly NO jobs outside those five areas, outside basic service sector and agriculture.
