Im sure a lot of cities in this state fall in that category, especially last year.

It was last year right around the 4th of July. We went to the mountains for the first part of it and thought it would have cooled off when we came back, but it was still blazing hot that weekend at the Festival for the Eno. July 3rd - 8th (6 days) all had high temps of 100 degrees or more at RDU according to wunderground Weather History for Raleigh-Durham Airport, NC | Weather Underground . The record highs for the 3rd, 4th, 6th & 7th were set or tied then.

Also I remember seeing a map of highest conceivable temperature ranges for all the 50 states. And if I recall it in theory would never rise higher than 110-112 here at any given time. That 110 in Fayetteville sounds about right. I'm going to search for the map. The further aouth and west the state the worse the heat could possibly be I think Tennessee was like 112-114 and it got worse from there..
