I saw on our local news Gays are coming to Va to get married now! From the Charlotte area they are flocking to Hillsville VA..........That town has never had so much excitement in its history! The little lady who hands out the licenses was very sweet
And explains the only new thing on the license is Spouse and Spouse, not Husband and Wife. Just another day in Hillsville.
Now, West Virginia has decided to recognize same-sex marriage. Coast to coast, the holdouts are falling like dominoes. The majority of Americans now live in states with same-sex marriage, and the number increases almost daily.
The writing is on the wall. The Fourth Circuit has spoken, and the US Supreme Court has spoken about the Fourth Circuit's ruling for marriage equality. By the way, Indiana and Nevada have just decided to recognize same-sex marriages also, meaning the majority of states now have marriage equality. Too bad NC will now be in the last half of states on the equality caravan, but let's hope they don't wait to be in the last 20 states.
All eyes are on Guilford Country. A federal Judge in Greensboro will be making a ruling and as soon as he does, marriage licenses will be issued to couples of the same gender in Guilford County and across the state of North Carolina. I think opponents (politicians) stirred a hornets nest by playing politics with this issue. There were already laws on the books banning same sex marriage. Looks like their political games backfired and same sex marriage in NC is coming much sooner than it would if they had left the issue alone.
Not being critical, I just find it amusing. Nobody would say that and mean it unless they were under the influence.
