I'm in the WNC area and have Geico's homeowners insurance, underwritten by Homesite Ins Co. They say I don't have Water Back Up and Sump Overflow coverage and I can't have it. I'm a little shocked.

Before I embark on the mission of finding a new insurance company, would anyone be able to give me a recommendation of insurance companies that offer this type of coverage?

I'm curious about why Geico does not offer this coverage... I asked them and the agent could not give me an answer, just that they do not offer it in NC. Good to know. Anyone in NC that has Geico homeowner's insurance take note!!

Nationwide offers it here in Winston... I declined this opportunity to pay them more.

I don't think any standard HO insurance policy in NC offers that. It's always an add-on. Can't say why Geico doesn't have it, but I know State Farm does as my agent years ago tried to talk me into adding it. I said no. I'm guessing it's a profit maker for them since the likelihood of paying on something like this are extremely low.
