We are moving to Statesville, Troutman or Mooresville in the next few months (From Pittsburgh) and need to know where the GOOD high schools are? Statesville High, South Iredell, North Iredell, West Iredell, Mooresville High (I believe there are 2)??? What are the better schools? What to stay away from? Thank you in advance for your help.

Lake Norman High, South Iredell High, and Mooresville High are highest rated. Amos Hough High in Cornelius is also highly rated and just south of Mooresville. Good is all relative though depending on what your child's individual needs are.

Lake Norman Charter ranked #145 nationally and #8 in NC by US News. No other schools in the area were ranked in the top 2500 nationwide.

Just for clarification, if you limit "the area" to Lake Norman that may be true. But I believe that is disingenuous to someone who doesn't live here. The Charlotte metro has a bunch of nationally ranked high schools that made the US News list.

My mistake, Pine Lake Preparatory in Mooresville is ranked #22 in NC and #853 nationally. There is always Davidson in Mecklenburg County.

and South Charlotte... and Union County... lol

I know, I know I'm going further from LN area. But, honestly I don't put that much into those lists.

For the area the OP is considering to move to these are the high schools, along with Pine Lake Prep that are rated the highest and consistently receive good reviews here and other places. I'd be comfortable sending my child to any of those.

None in the Statesville area would make my cut.

I taught in the area until 2013. Unless things have changed since I left, I would recommend trying to stay within the Mooresville Graded School District, as opposed to Iredell-Statesville. Mooresville High School is the MGSD's high school.
