Check out Mecklenburg County Schools, Cabarrus County Schools, Union County Schools, Gaston County Schools or Iredell County Schools - those are some of the public school systems in this part of the state

I know that the science and math is the biggest hiring area right now, but in secondary. I do not know if he has his certificate in this. Your daughter will have a harder time because English is considered like a social studies endorsement, everyone has it. If they really do not care where they teach for a few years, try Fayetteville. I know they will give immediate contracts to science endorsements. To be honest, with a new teaching degree you need to get a few years in before you will get a really good job. They also should get a teaching job and then work on their masters. Most school districts do not like to hire no experience teachers with masters because of the increase in their pay scale.

Try Cumberland County Schools. Both my husband and I got hired there over the summer. There will be many openings for next year too, I'm sure.
