We recently purchased a new construction home in August. Since we moved in, there has always been sediment in our water coming from our well. For the first few months, we left it be knowing that everything had to "settle." Fast forward nine months and we are still having issues. There is enough sediment that it clogs up the hose to our washing machine every other load which we have to take apart and clean before it will wash another load.

We contacted the company who installed the well and they told us it wasn't their problem and to deal with it. We contacted the developer who told us we needed to pay for a whole house water filter system to fix the problem. Anyone with experience in this area or know what the standards are if this is something either the developer needs to resolve or if we do need to bite the cost ourselves?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Yes it is your cost. Your well. Your property. A well company just drills the well. The developer builds your house. Mother Nature is responsible for what kind of water you have. I would advise that you have it tested to determine anything else you may need besides a sediment filter, such as a water softener.

Ok, I've personally had this issue. Why, because the idiot well company sat the pump in the muck at the bottom instead of pulling up several feet. Prior to repair (pulling it up 10' off the bottom) I had to change filters every two weeks, after repair it is once a year. You might have a different well company evaluate.
