My and my girlfriend are considering moving to Goldsboro, North Carolina. Just trying to get a basic idea of what everything would cost as in water, electric, gas, sewer, and trash. Before we settle on a place just want to make sure everything can fall into our budget and not be takin by surprise.

Water/sewer rates: http://www.goldsboronc.gov/wp-conten...ewer_rates.pdf

Electric rates: https://www.duke-energy.com/_/media/...sdep.pdf?la=en

Trash/recycling: Solid Waste – City of Goldsboro

As for gas, the city does not have it’s own service so if you need gas, you’ll need to contact either AmeriGas or New Hope Gas Company.

New Hope Gas Company

I can give a brrakdown if you 2 live in a 1 bedroom apartment.

rent 700
gas 50
electric 50
internet 40
auto insurance 35
food 400
gasoline 200
mobile phone 100

So around 1500/month not including extras like satelite, gym, entertainment. 2500 if you want to save or take vacations.

From what I understand, Goldsboro isn't exactly "poppin" like Raleigh or Charlotte, so the cost of living is dirt cheap. At least from what I've seen. The guy above me gave a pretty good breakdown.

That’s assuming the OP is looking for a 1-bedroom aparment, which I kinda doubt. I agree that cost of living is dirt cheap compared to Raleigh/Charlotte, but it’s not getting any cheaper. Prices have slowly started creeping upward in recent years, though not enough to write home about. There’s been some buildup since I last lived in the area in 2009. The last time I was there was last December.

At any rate, OP is gonna need to be more specific about what kind of house or apartment he’s looking for.

Correct, but salaries there are low and the job market is non-existent.
