Hello,
We are relocating to Mooresville NC from Long Island NY this summer. Our son is 3 1/2 and had been receiving speech therapy for verbal apraxia since he was 17 months old. He recently started to receive OT therapy as well. Our current school district provides these therapy services. Is there anyone living in Mooresville area receiving therapy that can give us advice? Our son currently attends a 2.5 hr daily preschool program where he receives speech therapy and OT as well. Are there any programs similar in the Mooresville area? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you very much for your help!

Default Hope I can help

Hi! You will love Mooresville. We have been here since Sept. of 2006 and have a boy who will turn 4 in June and a 10 year old daughter. Our son has been in speech therapy since he was around 23 months old. He receives services through SpeakAbility, Inc. speech therapy in Mooresville, Lake Norman and the surrounding areas.. If you are looking to receive services through the school system, Mooresville Graded School district starts at 3 years of age. Our son recently was placed in the Exceptional Children's program at one of the local elementary schools. I would suggest calling the partnership here in Mooresville. The website is ICPYC Home Page. They provide a number of services and will help you get in touch with who you need to speak to. They have playgroups, mother's morning outs and even a resource center where you can check out books and toys. They also help with finding child care and applying for the More at Four program. Please feel free to ask me anything! I will try my best to help you out!

Carrie

Default Thank you so much for the information!!!

Hi Carrie,
Just wanted to thank you for the information you posted. With the internet, it's easy to find information but you can't tell how good the services are or if people are happy with them. Thanks so much!!
