The OP said Davie County, which makes me think they are talking about the church in Harmony. It's a cute little burg on SR901; I've passed thru there several times on rides. The
easiest way to get there (not necessarily the shortest) from Salisbury would be to take 70 to Statesville and get on I-77 north. I'm not sure what exit it is, but look for 901. It'll probably say Union Grove or maybe Harmony. Take 901 south, I guess, maybe east, to Harmony. Go thru that town (I think it's only a 4 way stop) on 901 and you'll see Sheffield Rd. If you plug Harmony, NC into Mapquest and zoom to street level, then pull the screen around with your mouse, you'll see what I mean.
To get back home, you can continue south on 901 where it ends at 64. There should be signs directing you to I-40 from there.
You might be able to figure out the backroads way by using Mapquest. I could give directions since I've done a lot of exploring, but it may seem convoluted, as those kinds of directions usually turn out
