From research I have seen a number of different estimates on registering vehicles in NC. I have heard anywhere from about $100 to $600. Is this information accurate?
I know you have to get your vehicle inspected and pay fees for license plate and other registration fees.

How often do you need a vehicle inspection? Based on the value how much do they go by?
Vehicle inspection in NC is yearly. Some counties require emission inspection in addition safety related inspection, while others are safety only.
The annual property tax on motor vehicle is based on the value of the vehicle and the local tax rate for your specific county/city. It varies throughout the state.
The Highway Use Tax (HUT) is a one-time vehicle registration state tax, not to be confused with the annual local property tax on motor vehicles.
That sounds cheap. My Nissan is blue booked at $1700.00 So if I did this right it should be under $100 bucks?
