Ok..so I am in the process of relocating to Fayetteville, NC from California, and I'm curious how much my tattoos and hair color are going to effect my chances at a job. Is Fayetteville a very conservative place? I know the military is a big part of the community, and with that is a hodgepodge of different people. How worried (if at all) should I be?

Thanks so much for any input you have for me

(Oh..I am looking into administrative positions, etc.)

I've seen people in the type of jobs you wouldn't expect to have piercings on their face around here. Tats are almost "normal." Hair color--that can always be changed if it's an issue.

Where are your tattoos and what color is your hair? That would play alot into it...

Well..the hair isn't anything to crazy (I don't think). Bright red chunky streaks on dark brown. And the tats...well, the ones I'm worried about are smaller ones (stars and lettering) on my forearms and wrists. I was already planning on wearing long sleeves to the interviews. Will I end up looking ridiculous, isn't it pretty hot and humid right now??

I know..I'm probably just over thinking it all....California isn't THAT different...right (LOL)

Thanks so much for the input.

I guess it depends on what kind of job you are looking for. I see all kinds of freaky looking people (no offense, I was in the USAF for 24 years, to me it looks odd) working around town mostly in service industry type jobs.
