My husband, children and I are planning to move to North Carolina soon. We are looking to rent a house in a good neighborhood where we can raise our children. We don't know anything about the state but heard it is a good place to get a fresh start. If anyone can give me any tips as to where I should start looking I would appreciate it.

So much depends on what you can afford and how large of a city you want to live in
I can afford about $600-$700 rent. I am moving from Detroit, MI. I'm looking for a area with much less violence than Detroit. Good schools and not a real busy city.

Please check out Concord, NC...a nice little city just at Charlotte's northeast border. Schools are good, the area is safe and in your price range you will find a nice apartment or home to rent. That kind of money would not get you much in Charlotte for a family size place. Best of luck to you
