We are considering a move to NC. We live in South East MI. We have a daughter who will start high school next year and a daughter who will start kindergarten. Yikes!!! Older daughter is academically advanced (slated for honors classes) and is a good athlete, excels in softball. We are looking in the Charlotte, Cary, Raleigh areas. Looking for schools with good academics, good sports, family type neighborhoods, and areas that would be safe and easy for a teenager from MI to fit in. Does such a place exist? Any help would be appreciated!! Have fallen in love with the pretty blue skies, beaches, and people of NC!

Try Concord, near Charlotte. Central Cabarrus HS has one of the top softball programs in NC and good academics. Concord itself is a nice town. Lots of shopping/resaurants, convenient to Charlotte via I-85/I-485, safe.

South Charlotte is a very nice area and Myers Park High is #37 in the nation for best High Schools according to Newsweek Magazine. Union County Schools are also highly recommended. The area you go to will depend largely on your price range. If you'd like to do a property search to see what your $$ will buy, you can access my website under my profile. Good Luck. Let me know if I can help.
