The new nuclear attack submarine, North Carolina was christened today.

Other North Carolina named ships over the years:

Ship-of-the-Line NORTH CAROLINA ((1824 - 1866)
Confederate Ironclad NORTH CAROLINA (1863 - 1864)
Armored Cruiser NORTH CAROLINA (ACR 12) ( 1908 - 1920)
Battleship NORTH CAROLINA (BB 52) (1919 - 1923) Never completed
Battleship NORTH CAROLINA (BB 55) (1941-1947) Now in Wilmington, NC.
