Hi Cando, North Dakata.

I saw your name on a map and love it. Anyone here know how it got that name or anything else about the town. Never been to North Dakota yet, but just curious.

Cando was literally named because of the "can-do" attitude of the founders. It's not a very large town, but nice enough. Aside from that, it's notable for being the hometown of Dick Armey.

Thanks for the reply to my curious question. Thats awsome they named the town that. I noticed on their web site they are also the Duck Capital of ND. (I get board on my lunch break). Yeah, I know about nice small towns and thats what interest me. I live in the small farming village of Marshall, MN.

I never said that was the MOST notable thing about Cando, but looking at things from a national perspective, more people are likely to know about a former prominent politician than about the Hardware Hank.

Hello I'm from Cando, and it is a place where everyone knows everyone. We may not always agree with some things people do here, but all in all, it is a safe place to rise your children, you can take a walk with out worry. I would said cando has safety on the top of its list!

It also has is the home of Gene Nicholas,( famous Republican) and ties to Dave Osborn(football) as well.
It is the fact that everyone knows everything that can be the problem.I grew up there until my mid 20"s and still have brothers there.great small town, but not a lot for teens to do in the evening. And dare we forget home of Noodles by Leonardo.
