If you want to work on the oil rigs, then Halliburton is a large company in the area that tends to do a lot of hiring. Another one worth mentioning is Power Fuels if you have CDL and tanker experience.
I called Nomac today as saw them in the Shopper and they said to send a resume by tomarrow and wednesday they will call for appts in Bismarck for Novemebr 2nd job fair. I asked if you need to have experience and they said yes for most jobs but there are some that you don't need oilfield experience.
They seem ok. I didn't see too much on them here but also saw they were hiring for the Eagle ford shale in texas but that one said you had to have experience. I also wonder if anyone here knows of thier reputation. Sent my husbands resume yesturday, hopefully they call, lol......
Nomac (a Chesapeake Energy company) bought Bronco Drilling. All of the nomac rigs in nd were Bronco 6 months ago. Bronco had a decent reputation around here. For the drilling companies Nabors is 1. Usually Pioneer/Precision/H&P/Ensign/Bronco, then Cyclone and DHS. There are many other drilling companies up here now but the ones I listed are the main ones.
Saw another job fair but on craigslist for Mile High energy having it in Minneapolis today thru Friday. I was excited cuz on ad it made it seem as if they are hiring for various positions and no exp necessary. We are only 2hrs away so my hubby was gonna take half day off tomarrow.
well then spoke to the whoever he was! First he told me it is not a job fair but a hiring event(is there a difference?) thier header on ad says loud and clear JOB FAIR then he was annoyed by my voice and was like "Is this for you?" then he said they are only hiring for cdl class a. I started building up my annoyance as it takes awhile for me to catch on, lol, so I ended call politely. Since it will bother me I called back and got a girl I explained their misleading ad and she connected me back with guy I kinda attacked him not meaning to but was so excited about my hubby going, to have him blow it up. In end he apologized and said applicant w/no exp or cdl is welcome to attend, but only a few spots for those like that. I also informed him on the ad saying JOB FAIR (just couldn't let that go). Also feel was good lesson as taking this is normal? Gonna leave it to hubby now he is way more patient and doesn't take as personal.
