If anyone could give me a heads up on where or who I could get in contact with I'd appreciate it. A bit of a oddball career to research. I have not found much on the net. I am guessing there are plenty of guy's like myself working in the area? Thanks

Are you a licensed surveyor or surveyor in training?

Have you done oil field land work before?

Are you familiar with legal descriptions and land law?

It's a good field to be in and good crews do command their pay and schedule but if you are new to the business, the barriers for entry are a little high. I would say that surveying here is much easier than other areas of the country.

Not a LS or LSIT. Just a guy who has worked in this field for a long time. Former survey buss. owner/partner as well as working with a handful of consulting firms over the years. I worked in house for a grading contractor the last several years and would like to continue doing so. I'm not really interested in working in a office full time. As far as oil field experience goes, I have zero. Reading, understanding legal's is not a issue. I was interviewed for a position recently out there but it was not for me. The outfit needed a office (only) guy to produce DTM's. I respectfully told them I was not interested in that position. I am a outdoor guy. Give me a base and rover along with a utv and let me take care of maintaining vertical and horizontal control on a road job/site development etc. I sure miss this! Iowa is slooooow. Troy
