Our company is looking to expand to Minot. We will not close our main office in Williston. We understand that Wiliston will always be in the middle of the basin and will continue to be the hub for the majority of companies.
As soon as possible. We have some drivers from Minot over here training right now. Within the next few weeks we should be set to send them that way. The sooner we can find a home for them the better. I have forwarded the info you sent me to the owner and vp of the company. They will be heading over to Minot within the next few days.
Just read in the Sundays Williston Herald Williston Herald - Online Edition that HESS has announced their plans. Sounds like the they will move their ND regional headquarters to Minot, leave their Williston office as is, and build a major office complex in Tioga (where the gas plant exists). So sounds like Tioga will be the biggest gainer in the HESS move. Good for Tioga though, their gas plant is the reason why HESS exists in ND in the first place. It is nice to see the smaller towns benefiting from the oil industry.
In todays paper, Minot Daily News, there was a large article about Amerad Hess and what they are planning to do. Go the the website of Minot Daily news and check out the article. ct
I don't think Hess is planning on moving until 2009 and that is only if the drilling goes well Hess has not been doing real well with their drilling as compared to other companies. they just shut down in this area for the winter and layed off some of the contractors is what I was told don't know for sure
Interesting you say that. If you go into the www.nd.gov site (official state of nd web site)...and go into agencies by alpha... choose the Oil and Gas link...and Daily activity link...if you page through the activity, you do see where HESS has cancled a lot of their permits, etc... where others are still going strong. Maybe they are concentrating more on the HESS plant in Tioga (gas plant) as I heard they are planning a major expansion to the plant as well as building a large office complex next to the plant.??? According to the Minot and Williston papers, they will have a larger presence in Tioga than Minot or Williston.
A lot of oil company employees have been looking for housing in Minot. I have had some interest from people, however they did not give me their contact information.
I have a couple properties available; if anyone's interested in new housing in Minot, I'm giving the oil companie's employees a first shot at the houses. I want to make their move/transition to the Magic City as smooth & welcoming as possible.
Just shoot me a message & I can send details, etc. if you are interested.
