I know this forum seems like a ghost town most of the time, but can anyone tell me if you can hunt the road when hunting pheasants? Can you hunt in the ditches like in some states? I'm a recent transplant.
I recently moved from ND to MN. But I probably can not help with your question as I am not a hunter and have never studied the game laws. While I have occasionally seen pheasant hunters out in the field I never saw any hunter near any roads.
It means that road hunting is OK unless the adjacent land is posted. It has nothing to do with the type of road surface. An example: if you are hunting on a north-south road, and the west side is posted, you can hunt the east right-of-way but not the west.

I had read that but was a bit confused. Hunting regulations are always written in such a confusing manner.
As long as it's not posted no hunting on the side of the road, correct?
We've always made a point of jumping into the ditch.
