I'm moving to Minot late April with my wife, her parrotlette, my son, his wife and his son and his dog - toy dashund. We're really concerned about two things right now, trying to find either a house/apartment with 3 bedrooms that will accept pets, or 2 apartments, one 1 bedroom and the other 2 bedroom. The 2 bedroom would have to accept his dog. Would also consider a 3 bedroom house.

I've called and talked to a couple of apartment complexes but none of them accept pets. I've also googled everything that I can find about the housing situation and haven't found any complexes that take pets.

If you know of any apartments that take pets, please let me know. I'm willing to live outside of Minot in one of the towns close by in order to find what I need in a place to live.

Thanks,

I wonder if Craigslist has any ads for pet-friendly homes. If not, maybe post one there or would run an ad in the local classifieds. Maybe would offer extra money for a pet deposit. I know it's hard to find dog-friendly rentals but I would think a miniature dachsund would be doable. Best wishes.

There is one apartment that I know of in Minot that rents to pets and I wouldn't let my pet rock live there. You would be better off looking for houses to rent and maybe talking them into renting with a pet, but there is virtually nothing for apartments.

Larry Louser rents houses that allow dogs. I can't remember the name of the realty; he works out of the Prudential building but his company is called something else....I can't remember. My friend and I rented a two bedroom house a couple of years ago for $600 a month. That was before the oil boom, though. I don't know what you'll find there now.
