We have looked at Mott, ND to buy a house. However, talked to several people there who, thou they will not be quoted, say the politics in Mott are really bad. Everyone there is afraid of the mayor and his family and friends that run the town and will not say much. It seems that the mayor seems to try to run the county also. Anyone know anything about the situation there?

I guess no one knows anything about Mott. Must be a very small and unknown town.

We were there last year and loved it! I wish I could talk my hubby into moving there after retirement. Talked with a few people there but no one mentioned anything you are asking about.

Wouldn't surprise me. Sounds like some small towns around where I live.

Mott is the spot that God forgot. Come on, you didn't know that? It has a population of about 700. The closet major city would be Dickinson with a population about 25,000 and is about 60 miles away and Bismarck with a population of about 60,000 is 110 miles away. The Black Hills of South Dakota is 250 miles away. Mott has good pheasant hunting. That is it's claim to fame. Because of the hunting, land in the area is over priced.

I went back in 1993 and most little farms were deserted. There were no food stores but plenty of bars. Everyone watches strangers.Still and all, if you have a family it is a nice place to live for tranquility.
