St. Joe's is a typical church picnic. I haven't been to one in a while, but I imagine there are games for the kids, money wheels, peel off bingo, regular bingo, all sorts of food, a beer tent, a rummage sale, things like that. I don't think there's music, but it's still a helluva way to spend an evening, especially if the weather's nice.

As far as fire company picnics, McAdoo in Schuylkill County has a picnic on the 20-22, don't know much about it, never been to it. On June 22nd at 6pm, Benton in Columbia Co. has their parade and they have a picnic in conjunction...not sure of all of the dates. The wild thing about this is that immediately after the parade, the companies go back through the town as part of a town wide water fight. People bring tubs of water balloons, squirt guns, etc. Something to see, but plan on getting soaked. Salem Twp. in Beach Haven, just north of Berwick has a picnic the 21-29. This is a nice picnic that is like a step back in time. Lake Winola in Wyoming Co. also has their picnic, not sure of exact dates but definately the 27-29. Another nice step back in time. June 26-29 is Elmhurst-Roaring Brook in Lackawanna County outside of Scranton. It's a nice picnic with good food. Parade on the 27th. On June 28, Wilson Hose CO. Peckville having a block party...this is in Lackawanna Co. and is the first time for the festival. On that date, Mount Carbon in Schuylkill Co also has a block party. Hope this helps.
