Anyone know what the new restaurant is going to be that is being built where the old Lee's Restaurant was in front of the Comfort Inn on Rt. 611 in Bartonsville? At least I am assuming it is going to be a restaurant.

JamMan,
I was just told today that it is going to be a new Big Daddys’. I cannot confirm that. Ertle owned the old one up by MA. If that is the case; I am curious what will go in where the old one sat?

fisheye,

I also heard that it was going to be the new Big Daddy's. Interesting how construction started less than a week after the old one burned down. BTW...the property where the old BD's stood I heard was sold to MA.

BTW...are you the same fisheye as from the Stroudsburg [domain blocked due to spam] forum?

JamMan (Bayview)

JamMan, Bayview,
Yes, the same fish.
What amazed me is how quick the cleanup occurred after the fire. The arson investigator had to work with the excavator! When was the property sold; the day after the fire? When did you hear of MA purchasing the property? I suspected the outcome. The fire was very convenient.

A friend told me a month ago or so that MA had purchased the property.

When your financially set like Jimmy Ertle is you can pretty much have things done really quick if you want!! He owns quite a few properties in S'burg...hopefully the new Big Daddy's will be just as good as the old one if not better...Lee's Tokyo Steakhouse was nothing but a roach-infested piece of crap anyway...it's about time they closed it down!!

DavidWebb,
I know that Ertle can get a job done. DeNaples is the same way. Yes; The Tokyo Restaurant never set the world on fire. It was just very quick - the coals didn’t even have a chance to cool. I tried to blame the fire on that new bright orange paint on BD’s - just a little too hot!
Time is money and they did not want to waste too much.

It's been closed down for quite a while (2 years?). The building has just been sitting there.

I actually liked Lee's, much better than the new hibachi place up in Swiftwater. Had to put in my 2 cents

If it is going to be a BD's, it will have to compete with Red Robin, Longhorn, Red Lobster, Sonic and Chilis...all within a block or two. Up in Swiftwater it was by itself. But, I'm sure it will hold it's own down here if it is to be a BD's.
