I like to look at real estate just for fun and I'm also trying to get ideas for if/when I'm luck enough to retire in 8 or so years. We recently wasted some time listening to the timeshare spiel at Split Rock in exchange for a hundred bucks for the casino and some other stuff. It was our 1st time there and we thought it looked pretty cool although I'd like to get a closer look at the lake. We have 2 grankids ages 3 and 8. I'm thinking there's so much stuff to do there that it might be a nice place to retire when the time comes. I like golfing , fishing, boating, bowling, and going to the movies and they have all of that stuff right there on top of all of the pools and beaches, etc...

Does anyone on here live there or have a lot of knowledge about the area? I'd appreciate any info I get. Thanks.

The area is beautiful - I love Lake Harmony and Split Rock is very pretty. Would you be buying a house there? My issue with Split Rock (and why I would never stay there or recommend it) is that I think it's poorly run. The food is absolutely horrible and the service is bad. I think it's advertised as a classy kind of place but two things conflict with that. 1 - they discount their rooms, deeply. If there is availability they will cut way down just to fill the bed. So you end up with some sketchy people. 2 - the water park and the time shares also cheapen it. Anyone can just wander around.

If you are thinking of buying property and not being a hotel guest I think it's a great area. And the movie theater there is really nice. Clean and quite inexpensive.

Yeah like I said we got to walk around on the time share tour so we saw the movie theater and bowling alley. We might go to the water park in a few weeks to let the grandkids check it out.
If we do anything there it would be buy a house.
Thanks a lot for the response.
