Need info on suggested communities in direction of Wilkes Barre ( grandkids!) and what commuter links would, could be used. A commuter time of 60-90 min is most desireable. Thanks

If you leave at 5am, it will only be a 60-90min depending on how you drive. If you are past Parsippany by 6am you are usually in the clear.

I used to live in Mt Pocono and i worked in Morris park in The Bronx , I would leave my house at 4:30 am and Be at the GWB at 6 am .... 1.5 hrs to the city .. then another 20- 30 min to the job.. In good weather . I agree at the early hrs in the morning you can make some time .. But when the weather is Bad you'll never make it ,,

I wasn't thinking weather. I was only thinking 5am commute with no weather. I drive to the Bronx weekly, sometimes twice a week. I make it door to door in an hour and 45-55 minutes from Scranton. I usually leave here around 4:30am.

Look in the Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg, PA area. An hour to Wilkes-Barre and a little over an hour to NYC.

Try Brodheadsville, Effort, Kunkletown. You can get a bus into the city from that area, so no long trip to a bus station.
Then you could take 115 to 940 to the turnpike and out to Wilkes Barre. About an hour to that area.
One and a half to the city. It seems like the best location to head for you. Good Luck.

Sorry to veer off-topic just a bit, but Summering are you permanently living in Myrtle Beach now?
