Its worth mentioning that if you living in a city (Scranton) your local income tax is going to be 3% vs 1% for any towns.

I was thinking the same thing when reading the earlier part of this thread.
North Scranton & Dickson City themselves have some really nice residential neighborhoods which are also nearby major shopping centers & the highway, but also have quite a bit of "wilderness". Just ask anyone in Dickson City about the deer!
From our house you can hear the highway sometimes, but you can also hear the train & train whistles which is actually quite nice.
Everyone who comes to our house, always makes the remark that you wouldn't know you were in Scranton.

Her husband will be working in Montrose. That's not a fun commute from Scranton in the winter.
