I'm wondering what the feeling is about this Fix Lackawanna "movement" that Chuck Volpe keeps talking about.

I know a couple of the candidates, but since I'm not up in that area anymore I don't really have a dog in this fight. Still, I'd like to here what Lackawanna County residents think. Is this just more politics as usual, or some real movement toward change?

Here is a link to Volpe's site:

I think it is a great idea and hope that it inspires real change. I too would like to know what Lackawanna County residents think. Even though I'm a Luzerne County resident, I recognize that what happens in neighboring counties affects us too.

I prefer a county council set-up over the 3 commissioner that is now in place.

The problem is its still the same cast of political characters and hacks.

I doubt anything will change except there will be more political hacks making decisions for us.

That's kind of the impression I get. Kind of like the JV team is sick of the Varsity team making all the decisions so they want their shot, but it's still the same ol', same ol' with no real new blood or ideas.

That won't change until more residents stop with their impotent whining and start doing something about it - like educating themselves on the issues, attending meetings and demanding fair representation.
