As I see a lot of people posting pictures here I thought I would enlighten everyone with some recent photos I took from the top of Penobscot Mountain where the radio towers are in Mountaintop, PA.

ChefKey........they are beautiful. Did you see my Top, top of the Camelback Mt. pictures.
Isn't there something that gives goosebumps to be up so high, and be looking at the roads and cities beneath. There is just enough color left to make the pictures inviting.
Thank you for taking the time to show us. I know between riding there, taking the pictures, and getting them into a posting photo shop, then on here.........is an all days job.
I didn't know that area mountain before you posted!

These are great! Thanks.....now I can see the view without having to watch the roadway while driving up the mountain......I see you even got the cooling towers at Susquehanna Steam Nuclear plant near Berwick...

Magnificent vistas 'back home'.......

Hi Summering, Your Camelback pictures are what inspired me to share my view of the top of the valley so thank you. It sure is nice to go up on a warm day and just breathe the clean air away from the valley. To WasPA, yeah funny but I had to post the Nuclear Plant. It is ominous to see those hulking masses from 25 miles away from where I took the picture.

^^^Have you ever checked them out (cooling towers) from Wapwallopen and enivrons across the river from various vantage points up and down the hilly roads or along the river?....or behind them on Bell Bend Road on the Berwick end of the nuclear facility (off Rte. 11)? Very ominous.....and visually powerful at such close proximity.....

No, but driving by them just on 11 was scary enough LOL. I hadn't been down that way yet having only lived in NEPA for 14 months at the time of the Bloomsburg fair. We drove 80 to get there but decided to do the town drive home on 11 to see the sights. Seeing them on the right as we drove north so close to the road was a bit jarring. I know we do pretty good with safety in this country but that does get a bit unnerving when you see how huge they are.

Can you imagine living along Route 11 and having those huge cooling towers practically in your back yard. It's a bit creepy, but I guess people get used to it.

Great pics!
