One of the most twisted things going on in our country now is this notion that if you don't support the war you are not supporting the troops. Just like how SWB had to clarify his position because many people have drank the koolaid that any outright disapproval of the war hurts the troops. That is total bs. Who in their right mind wouldn't care about people who have been commanded to go to war? Of course we all care. Especially those of us who have stood up against this illegal war. As I see it: if you are not standing up against this war, you are not supporting the troops!!

How can one root for their team to lose and yet be supporting the players? Congress fully authorized the war and continues to fund it. National defense is a primary responsibility of gov't. Funding for new medical schools is not.

There will be no winners in this war LNTT,and my main goal is to keep the people I know who can lose their life to a bunch of greedy pirates anyday now safe.

It makes my blood boil to hear you talk about teams and rooting for players. This is not a freaking game. This is real life and people are dying for no good reason. They are dying because of greed and that is absolutely sickening.

I fail to see how supporting a war that is bankrupting our country, creating the foundation for decades of strained foreign relations, and killing and wounding our own people is patriotic.

This war is not about national defense. The US is a much more difficult place to live for many people because of this war. I do not feel defended. I feel like my country has been attacked by a bunch of renegade imperialists also known as this administration.

Enemy ID problem. Workers in the towers and responding firemen, their families, embassy employees in Africa, UN inspectors being shut down, etc. -- those on the front lines, would likely have a different view as to who attacked them.

I think getting into world politics is way off topic here. Some people support wars, some don't. Every war the U.S. has been in has had people against it. No amount of arguing on a message board will change that.

So let us get back on topic. I still think spending my tax dollars on a medical school in Scranton is a waste since we already have 5 or 6 others in the state.

A med school will be an excellent catalyst for the area in terms of regionalized specialists. A med school in NEPA, scranton in particular will benefit directly by A) offering residency at CMC, Mercy, MT ect....this will do wonders for the hospitals themselves. B) create a bigger emphasis around continuing education in the area.

It is always been my observation that NEPA consistantly produces very talented people. This school will only increase the profile of the area in a positive light as well as help maintain an educated populist.

As to the logic that the state already has 4 or 5 med schools, there are 6 and each one is renowned. Why not expand on this by adding one in our area.

Correct. Were they the Iraqis? Of course not. I initially supported the invasion of Afghanistan in order to seek out and destroy Al-Qaeda and hold Usama bin Laden responsible for what he did. However, the present administration shifting its military focus to Iraq still has NO proven ties to 9/11. If anything I feel LESS safe now to think that Al-Qaeda might be gaining strength in Asia while we're meddling around in Iraq without being given an honest reason of as to why we're there from our fearless leader.

Exactly, we have known the truth for a while now: Iraq and 9/11 are not related!

Al-Qaeda caused 9/11 and we're fighting Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Why would we give them sanctuary there? Btw, did you know that according to the official 9-11 commission report, Iraq offered bin-Laden post 9-11 sanctuary?
