My husband and I presently live in NJ. We are retired and now have our house up for sale. We are not sure where we will move. We have children and grandchildren in NJ and I don't want to be too far from them. We are considering Southern NJ, but also DE and PA because of the lower taxes and less expensive housing.

We were considering the Poconos, near Milford, and even met with a realtor a few months ago to discuss the housing there. But it seems, after talking to her, that the medical facilities and doctors in that area are not that great. My husband is diabetic and has some heart problems, so it's important for us to be near good healthcare facilities. She told us that if we lived in the Milford area, we would need to go to NJ or NY for good medical facilities.

Is this true? Is this an area we should rule out?

How are the medical facilities and doctors, if we move further out from NJ, like closer to Scranton?

I asked this same question in the DE thread and was told that the doctors and medical facilities there are inadequate and that you would need to travel to Baltimore or Philadelphia for good healthcare. So I think we will rule out DE!

Thanks in advance for any input,
Marge
