I'm interested in purchasing a 10-30 acre piece of rural land in Pike County. I want to use it as a weekend place for a while and then maybe subdivide it some day.

What would you say is the lowest price per acre I can expect in Pike County (I'm fine with it being far from the highway)?

What are property taxes like on empty land like this? All the land listing sites seem to exclude the property tax price. Thank you.

Something about those 2 sentences seems ironic. You want to enjoy rural land, then subdivide it.

I meant that I would not want to buy land that could never be sub-divided. I imagine that land that could never be subdivided is less expensive than land that could be. I'm interested in the approximate low-end land price for land that could be sub-divided, even if I don't plan on actually sub-dividing anytime soon.

Could you possibly look up a few pieces of property on say.. realtor.com and then call the township where they are and ask what the taxes are? Hope that idea helps.
