We planning to visit from NYC. We used to go to one of the ceasers properties, but those resorts are gone or soon to be. We need sauna/hot tub, resort style grounds, family style.

Where can we go, besides an overpriced great wolf lodge.?

You're not going to get a sauna , resort or room service but if you want to try somehting a little different some of the State Parks have cabin rentals.

Rickets Glenn is really nice:

Only trouble there is one of the main attractions is a nature walk, lot's of really nice waterfalls. It's pretty long but you can park a car at the bottom beforehand and walk down to it. It may not be accessible o a very easy walk in the winter if it has snowed.

If anyone fishs you can do some ice fishing, if it hasn't snowed ice skating... check with the park and they can give you bigger list of possible activities.

The Loop Inn in Avenel, NJ has the Champaign glass Jacuzzis, etc that the Caesar's Pocono Resorts had and is only a hop, skip and a jump from Manhattan.

The Settlers Inn in Hawley, PA. Hawley and neighboring Honesdale are cute little towns with nice shops. If you're into beer, there is the new Wallenpaupack Brewery in Hawley, and there is Irving Cliff in Honesdale. Lake Wallenpaupack is also close by so I'm sure there would be opportunity for ice skating or snowmobiling.

Woodloch Pines resort (along with the Lodge which is a high end spa) is a nice place to visit. So is Skytop Lodge. Both places aren’t cheap however.

Oh, Skytop is it! Took mom to lunch there once. It's a beautiful property and they have everything, and I mean everything. If they don't have it, they'll find it. It is rather expensive.
