Yes! I learned to drive in the Bronx and frequently drove all over the city, including Manhattan rush hour. The driving out here makes me itchy. No sense of spatial relation it seems, one minute they're up your butt the next they're 19 car lengths behind. The turning, I'm always yelling, "You are supposed to clear the intersection! You're not landing on an aircraft carrier!"

It's your best bet....lots of travel options and connecting flights can be had from EWR which smaller regional airports don't provide....
