Yes...even though the pandemic has brought many buyers out here looking to buy winter in the northeast is not the ideal time of the year to list a home....if you can wait till spring rolls around would be a better choice....

I kind of figured that. Same for most of the Northeastern US I would imagine. In Florida, this is the busy season. People want to escape the cold and head down south. Once there, the wheels start turning on moving. But the summers are just awful down there and makes NEPA a paradise at that season for sure. I actually don't mind winters here, other than when I have to shovel snow and the high heating bills. The worst AC electric bills in Florida are cheaper than the worst heating bills here, by season (if you don't have wood, pellets, or coal to burn). But there is something to be said about enjoying the outdoors in your backyard for 9 of 12 months of the year down south.

That would be seven to eight for me, but you're not me.

Forget the sentiment. You can get sentimental about another place. With the money saved go to Britain, Balize, or Brazil.
$2.50. I'm considering places beginning with the letter P. Maybe C.

To get back to the original concern, my husband and I once bought a house in January. Yep, people buy houses in all 12 months of the year.

Just from our timing and dealing with our New York property, I can't see listing PA until the spring in any case. It would be comforting to know we still had a place up north we could slip into, with fairly low cost to maintain if we had to if Fl didn't work out. But the reality is we likely will need to sell it. Some say to sell PA 1st, then NY, to raise some needed cash for repair and moving expenses on the NY property, so there are pluses and minuses to either option. Either way, which to sell 1st, it's a daunting task we need to plan out for.

Are people leaving NYC for LI these days? Does the LI home need much work?
