If your mom is anything like my mom was, nothing is going to happen. After my dad died, she didn't want to move from the home which they had shared. She got her wish and died there. It was a bit of a nightmare for me driving hours to clean out her refrigerator, grocery shop, and make sure that her clothes and house were clean. The neighborhood was deteriorating.

Could be worse. My father left my mother a paid off, (not too big for one person to care for), solidly built home when he passed. What does she do with it? She sells it to buy a small patch of land to put a modular home on it. The latter under a mile away from the former. The house he left her was on a quiet dead end street. Where did she put the POS modular? Too close to the road on a through street. My mother was a chemist. She could turn money into.. ####..
