Workers have begun to gut the interior of 'Bee Witching,' which is on the site of the ever-proposed Jefferson Pointe project; could it be that this is finally underway? The one corner of the roof must have a blocked drain, it's been holding gallons and gallons water for some time now, I'm surprised it hasn't caved in. Jerry Joyce is/was the developer behind the project, first announced in November of 2003.

I hope not, but it's certainly possible. At any rate, even if they are gutting it to renovate and lease, at least it will not be an empty corner any longer. It would be nice if the city would at least landscape the corner of Linden and Wyoming...

One can only hope that this project is FINALLY progressing. It never ceases to amaze me that someone can announce a project in, per se, 2003 and not even start to break ground on it for a half-dozen years later. If this were Phoenix, Charlotte, Las Vegas, Tulsa, or any other major Sunbelt city a SKYSCRAPER could have been built in half that amount of time!

You're right....the Comcast Center, the tallest skyscraper in Philadelphia, was announced in 2004 and is already long finished...

Almost three months later..... it seems as though REAL work is beginning at the Bee Witching site. Workers today are busy tearing apart the interior and exterior of both buildings on the site. We can only hope that something signifigant is finally starting to happen.

Actually the bee Witching poject is, and never was funded with any tax payer monies. All of the projects Joyce has announced are all privately funded projects, hence is slow moving progress on them. As a laborer on the bee Witching project, I can attest to this. I know who is paying for the project that ia am working on.

KOZ is public tax welfare...

At least the project was scaled back to the bewitching project and not more uneeded lofts and downtown condos.......

Exactly Paul. Why does everything take so long to get off the ground in this second-class area? Things get done quicker in those areas like you said. WHY?
