Have you heard any word on the opening of Ruth's Chris?

Default Hi Everyone

I just wanted to say hi to everyone at the Forum. I am alive and well in the Mt. Cobb area. I am finding my way around, a bit. Have been to Dickson City but for some reason want to keep calling it Dickenson City. I have eaten at Perkins and Panera and some good local places. The Pizza place next to Dicks in Dickson City (twice). My first sign of normalcy was going to Price Chopper for my first round of groceries (Dunmore). I was so happy to see that they had a good organic and natural section. I think I will be able to do much of my shopping there and just visit Whole Foods (a ways away) a few times a year.

I did have a question (I have about a zillion) but just one for now Which do you think would be better to go for price and location? The Madison NJ location or the Ambler one not too far from Philly. NJ is closer on the map but I think I read in the forum that grocery prices in NJ were much more.

I would love to meet at the Panera Bread or anywhere just point me in the right direction. I made it to Old Forge for Italian food, was very good. Looking for other great local places.

I was just at the casino last night with my friends, and we were all blown away by it. I never thought I would live to see the day when little 'ole Wilkes-Barre had such an upscale entertainment complex. Then again, as the area's unofficial travel guide I spent more time chatting with people who spotted me out of the crowd than I did feeding money into the machines. LOL! I even saw my aunt and uncle from Atlanta; my uncle, a salesman, was in the region on business for a couple of days and decided to scope out the new offerings. To say it is just like Atlantic City would be quite accurate. There were definitely thousands of people there. My main gripe though is that Mohegan Sun should have been a bit more forward-thinking in that they should have built a parking garage instead of seeming multitudes of square miles of parking lots for us to get lost in! LOL!

Everything looked very upscale. My friend got coffee from a small Manhattan-style bakery with comfortable chairs, and I enjoyed a very delicious chocolate chunk cookie from there. There were also some retail venues as well, although all were out of my price range. I saw a gorgeous button-down shirt in the display window of a mens' clothing store, but then I saw the price tag and nearly collapsed---$118!

I fed $20 into a slot machine called "MonsterMadness" or something along those lines and was up to $28.50 when I cashed out. I then lost all of that and $20 more on other machines. My one friend from Ohio enjoyed the video blackjack machines. He was sitting next to a trucker from Michigan who was passing through the area and was apparently a master of the game---I glanced over out of curiosity and saw that he had a pot of well over $600!

The casino was very crowded. Since when is NEPA an economically "depressed" area?

It's awesome. Definitely worth the drive. It's much preferable to Mt. Airy, in my opinion, plus you don't get that feeling that you're "getting your hands dirty" by lining the pockets of a well-heeled and well-defended man who was likely involved in perjury.

Yes. As far as I saw everything appeared to be open with the exception of the Hot Dog Hall of Fame, which might have been open, but all I saw was some sort of false facade. Brookstone was a neat store too. There's also a winery/cheese market.
