We have an opportunity to purchase a lot for a weekend/retirement home. We have looked at several communities and have narrowed our search in PA to either heading to the Poconos or Treasure Lake. Does anyone have reasons we should be wary of either area? We certainly can do better for the $$ at Treasure Lake, but don't know if this is a wise move, since Dubois area isn't known for resort living?!! We just don't want to choose it just because it is cheaper. Any thoughts out there?

What is there to do in Dubois for a couple who love dining out, theatre, antiquing, and the outdoors? We are looking for a retirement second home where there are things to do within a reasonable drive. We are looking for a place to relax, but not be bored. Thanks.

Yea...we know that. We live in Baltimore. We just want to get away from the rat race and hustle and bustle.
Any thoughts out there that might be helpful.
