I would leave it at 21 for buying alcohol, but would remove any restrictions for a minor to consume alcohol with its family. Kids tend to gravitate towards the prohibited. By allowing teens to learn to drink with their family, it removes that mysticism that surrounds alcohol.

It should be 18, same as the enlistment age. Those always should be the same IMHO. Hear the new thing today?...the Govt. wants parents to co-sign for their kids credit cards up until age 21...but of course our daughters can have an abortion as young as 13 without our consent or knowledge. Nice.

Now that's something I can agree with both of you about. We can do one thing but not the other. Most times I wonder who's making these decisions in D.C. or is this something brainstormed over at O'Reilly's Irish pub over a few stouts!! Incredible!!

Along with history!! Many kids's today, even college graduates, don't even know where Mt. Rushmore is!!!! Guess spring break is more important than studying and hitting the books like they were supposed to.

I think we need more nuns like I had in school to BEAT the smarts into them!!!

Seriously, those nuns (as well as parents back then) were not trying to be the kid's "friends" like I see now. They were there to educate, & BOY!!!, educate they did!!

From what I've seen personally too, parents don't seem to take a higher stake in their kid's education like back when...it seems nowadays it's "park 'em in front of the TV or video game", or "give 'em some money & shuttle 'em off to the mall to hang out" instead of helping to educate at home as well as at school...

btw...where'd ya say Mt. Rushmore is???

Mt. Rushmore....isn't that out on Rt. 6 westbound??

But you are right JungleGeorge....I went to Religious Instruction after school back in the 60's and those nuns were no joke!! Some of the rulers had imprints on them from so many heads and hands that got whacked!!
