I am house hunting in the WB-Scranton area, there is a house in kingston that I like and would like to find out more about the town and the area from some folks that live there. would apriciate honest outlook!

Kingston is very nice. Right across the river from the city of Wilkes-Barre. Most of Kingston is made up of nice, well kept neighborhood's. There are a few less desirable streets, but most of Kingston is nice. What street are you considering moving too?

Do you have to live in the "city", there are much nicer areas outside of the WB/Scranton area, sorry city people. Clarks Summit and north are particularly nice.

...and much more expensive. Kingston is very nice, well kept and convenient to everything like the Gataway Shopping Center, downtown Wilkes-Barre, 24-hour Walgreens and Price Chopper. It is not a bad pick, and not as far out , or as expensive as the farther out towns and boroughs.

Agreed. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is one of the few major metropolitan areas in the nation where housing prices in the "city" are very depressed while suburban home values continue to soar. It's the opposite in most other areas where people are priced out of the
city (i.e. here in DC I already earn the median household income for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and couldn't afford to rent my own place in a decent urban neighborhood).
Kingston is not "the city," anyways. It's inner suburban.
