Does anyone live in or know of any communities in the Pleasant Valley School District that allow homeowners to fence part of their back yards?

Thank you for any info.

http://www.chestnuthilltwp-pa.gov/Pe...essoryUse2.pdf

that's the page for their fence permit.

when reading through their ordinances online, I read that fences are permitted for front yards, and corner lots, but it wasn't clear about back yards. If they do allow it, ask them what setbacks and ordinances you have to follow. You can call them tomorrow to find out what you need to know.

Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, Pa.

Thank you for that info.

I think I worded my question wrong.

I guess I'm more interested in the Home Owners Associations, like Sun Vally, Robinhood Estates, that sort of thing.

Does anyone know of any of those developments in the Pleasant Valley District that allow fences?

Also, any that you know of that definitely do not allow them. That would be just as useful.

Those types of things are in your Association rules and every lake community has a different set of rules. As far as I know........many don't allow fences.
Penn Estates, for an example, didn't allow fencing for a long time. Then later on they finally allowed a certain area behind ones home. I'm sure that was in the interest of keeping small children more confined to that space rather then having no fenced area.
It was interesting to see them crop up here and there as time went on.
Your best bet is to call the office of each development you want to buy into and ask their rule on fencing.........Then keep a good record on it for your house hunting reference.

It also depends on what you need the fencing for. If it's for a legitamate reason even if the devp doesnt allow you can work on getting fencing. That's exactly what we did and were approved

Just contact the Township Offices of the Townships and they will tell you. For something like this, you should always go to the source.

Hi! I know this post is old, but could you please tell me what community you are in? We are having a problem getting an answer to the fence issue in the Hideout. We bought a lot there and didn't realize they didn't allow fencing until afterwards. We want to build a house there but won't if we can't put a fence up.

Thank you.

Charlene you can put a fence for the dogs but you cannot fence in your entire property. There is also a dog run that is close by.
