Is this Monroe County. Is the reason because of more homes being built? 8 percent seems rather steep.

Yes, PV is part of Monroe County...but they say in the story that the tax increase will not likely be that high...it's just a projection...most likely will get voted down...at least we hope so

You realize this thread is from 4 years ago.

I think most school boards in Monroe County have been holding taxes at or near level rates since then.

Yeah, most schools don't have much of a slush fund nowadays. Maybe what you SHOULD do is actually attend a school board meeting so you can see how little schools have to work with these days.
