My GPS takes something like this, NJTP North to 78 West to 80 w to exit 41B to 15 North to 206 to route 6 to 84 W . Any shortcuts as some of these one lane roads take forever. Would it be better to get to 84 West by taking say 87 ???

We go to Wle from long island. We take the deegan to the 87 to the 84. Our friends live in Brooklyn and they come via staten island to 80 to 15 to 84. It takes them 2 1/2 hours

When we used to travel from Brooklyn to Lake Ariel we went through the GW bridge, through NJ route 17 then thru upstate ny and then through 84 where you would get off at Lords Valley exit. I find this the easiest and the nicest ride. Of course you have to first deal with getting out of Brooklyn!!!!!

From where in Brooklyn? Its different according to where your starting point is. I know 17 is the scenic rt. But it takes longer. So far the Deegan to 87 to 84 sounds the best. If you are going to hemlock you get off at Lords valley. If you are going to the hideout get off at 18 at the hamiln/newfounland exit and get on 191 to the hamilin corners make a right on 590 and go till you get to the hidout- there is a shorter way, but right now the bridge is out so that would be the shortest to the hidout.

i fond the fastest is the thruway, exit 16 to route 17 to 84... DO NOT take the thruway to exit 17 which is i84, its about 15 miles out of the way

I agree. Get off the 87 at exit 16 just before the Harriman tolls. Then take 17 to the exit for port Jervis. That will take u yo the 84.

We go this way except we are on route 4 to 17. I am not quite sure exactly because I am not driving, lol.
