Flooding
Most of the valley towns have areas prone to flooding. Most of the time, they're the quick "flash floods," but usually not the whole town - although Shickshinny always seems to get hit. I live in Kingston, which is protected by the levee system. Although my home flooded in '72, it never flooded before - or since - so flood insurance isn't even available in my area. On the subject of insurance, homeowners insurance in the area is pretty cheap, compared to alot of the other areas I've lived in. The best resource for flood info is a local insurance agent or realtor. Hope this helps.
