Default prefer an american made

I'd much rather get an American made preferably 6cly pre-owned. As you might gather from my screen name I'm from a Union family, IBEW, CWA, Insulators Union etc. Might not be able to park it at the local or even some job sites. But I have to admit I knew some people in New Hampshire who had awd subaru's yrs ago and they nver had any trouble getting around, and we got snow averages of 50 to 80 inches every year. But I will keep the sub in mind thanks

Also...most "foreign" vehicles sold in America are made in America. While I know some Chevy trucks are made in Mexico and Canada.

Although if you're going with the "Big 3," and you want a truck, I would go with a Ford...their trucks seem to last forever...plus Ford hasn't had the financial problems that GM and Chrysler has had. I wouldn't buy anything GM since they got bailed out and became "Government Motors." Check the local Ford dealers for used trucks, or even better, pick up a Paper Shop and buy it from a private owner.

I had a ford...it was made in mexico...the chevy i had before that? ya, canada. Buying used really doesn't matter since the factory already made it's money.

Why not find a quality vehicle from a private owner? Financing can be obtained through your bank prior to the sale, if you need a loan that is.
