If I was 28, and wanted to be relatively close to Manassas yet also close to everything else I'd get a condo in Fair Lakes. Lots of young people there, lots of restaurants and a good number of things to do. Also, you're much closer to DC and the other more urban areas where the young people congregate.

Vienna isn't exactly a single hotspot either, but I just wanted you to get an idea for distance/timewise commute. My husband commutes to Manassas everyday. It is 20+ miles and takes about 35-40 minutes since he is going against traffic. So it is possible for you to live closer in and work in Manassas. Falls Church might be a good option for a single person. The commute would probably be about 10 minutes or so longer depending on where in Falls Church. You could also look in Reston or Fairfax which would make for a shorter commute.
